The Urban Divers congratulates and is a proud supporter of member Victor Mooney 's Goree Challenge 2005- an 8,000 mile solo rowing expedition from Goree Island, off the Coast of Senegal to New York City in February 2005. Mooney's expedition is expected to take seven months. Victor engages in this journey to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS prevention, African Heritage and Global Environmental Conservation.

Clearwater Festival June 04... the largest gathering for the celebration and raising awareness for the Hudson River and tributary for more than 30 yrs....Celebrity Concert Performances, Environmental Education, Boat Rides, Food, WBAI Live Radio Broadcast, good ole whole and organic ethnic foods, trible dances...and offcourse exploring the murky and mysterious benthic environment of the estuary... 14th Annual Dragon Boat Race, Aug 04..., The Urban Divers volunteer as marine safety coordinators for the Dragon Boat Races, while sahring the importance of stewardship for our fragile aquatic environment. More than one hundred races took place over the weekend at Flushing Meadows lake, by more several hundreds partcipants from all over NYC, Canada, Philladelfia, Washington, Florida, to name a few. Crew: Mistue, Sachie, Addison, Ludger. Members Avra and Jana stopped by to enjoy the race and the other festivities.
