CELEBRATING OUR 10th ANNIVERSARY
RESTORATION, CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND PUBLIC EDUCATION FOR THE NATURAL RESOURCES OF THE NY/NJ HARBOR ESTUARY
The Urban Divers Estuary Conservancy (UDEC, The Urban Divers ) is a 501c3 not for profit environmental & cultural organization committed to active participation in the restoration, revitalization, restoration, protection, as well as a commitment to public education for our coastal resources (rivers, oceans, marine wildlife, green open spaces); with a special focus on the urban estuary, its watershed and the community that lives, learns, works, play and worship in and along its shore.
The Urban Divers work with communities challenged with environmental issues that affect our local waterways and watershed. Through environmental education, recreation programs, clean water action events, stewardship opportunities, conservation support & scientific diving, UDEC helps to capture the public’s attention to the significance of our planet & our community’s most fragile natural resource. These UDEC programs allow investigation into current conditions and the cost of human impact on our natural resources. UDEC also sponsors an eco-cruise series, an annual art & environment festival, and the ever-popular and original annual multimedia presentation-with-audience-participation "Live! Beneath the Estuary" to help raise awareness of our natural resources.
